Working with Excel Source that has both Hebrew and Alphanumeric characters

Good Morning All,

I was wondering if someone has some insights on how to handle a string from Excel that Contains both Hebrew and Alphanumeric Characters. I am having issues of them coming in backwards and I suspect that it is because this one line contains both Hebrew and Alphanumeric. I also noticed that line with just Hebrew works correctly. Eventually the end goal is to load this text into ECC through Longtext RFC or LSMW.

Best Regards,

I have done this before, worked without any issues, no special requiremenst. Just make sure that you specify the correct code page for the Excel sheet.

Hey Dirk,

Thanks for the quick response. I have actually set the Code Page for Excel to be UTF - 8. And it is the same result.

This is how it is looking like:

סוג הפילטר – 12%+30%: ערך 8-15 mmH2O. באם הלחץ גבוה, החלף את הפילטר, כולל מדבקה ותאריך.

But the desired result is the screenshot below.

Where is it looking like that?

I think your data is stored correctly, it's just the representation you copied and pasted that's not in the right order.

Try this: position your cursor somewhere in

סוג הפילטר – 12%+30%: ערך 8-15 mmH2O. באם הלחץ גבוה, החלף את הפילטר, כולל מדבקה ותאריך.

then press the shift key, and keep on pressing the right-arrow. See what happens? The order in which the characters are navigated is different from the order in which they are displayed.

Hey Dirk,

I tried that and found you are correct. The issue was loading it and viewing it in SAP. I was able to find a way to load it in the correct order. Thanks for all advice!

Hi Mathew,

Could you please post how you have resolved this issue. It will be useful for us if we face similar issue in future.

Thanks,

Hey Ravi,

That was my bad the key was just to load it logging in through the Hebrew client. When you read the file in through LSMW it will still look backwards, but once committed it will look correct. Hope this helps. One downside is that if your are not proficient with Hebrew it is difficult to troubleshoot load files.
