Maintenance Plan Scheduling Parameters Guidelines

All,

Does anyone have a "guideline" or "recommendations" document which outlines where/when each of the scheduling parameters in a maintenance plan should be used?

For example:

  • The completion confirmation flag should be used in the following circumstances.
  • Recommendations for shift factors/tolerance settings for certain circumstances
  • Etc

Thanks in advance

Hi Atkin,

To one of previous query on "maintenance plan date" a lot was discussed on maintenance plan scheduling parameters like the one which I shared in that thread i.e.

Completion requirement check box is only to generate subsequent orders once the previous order has been completed, so maintain as it is.Next. Coming to Shift factor early completion & shift factor late completion, the purpose is to control what percentage of the late/early completion date is to be transferred to the next planned date.

I suggest to go through the link , though it will not give complete information on all the fields of MPSP but some information on fields like shift factor, etc will be useful.

With regards,

I'm fully aware of the the functions of each of the scheduling parameter fields within the maintenance plan.

What I'm looking for is a document which gives guidance/recommendations on how they should be used.

For example, you wouldn't normally use shift factors/completion requirements fields on legal type maintenance, say an annual pressure relief/safety valve inspection.

We can write our own document, but it would be much easier if someone has done this previously..
