Dear Support ,

Wen need's your expert advice , We already have BW implemented in our landscape ( under Suse enterprise Linux and Oracle 11g ). but used only 4 or 5 reports because it's implementation is not good and also due to response time is too high cut short in future we will also implement BOBJ as well as BPC ( BW will be use as source system ). we are plan to migrate ERP system after two years but not now We have clarify following

1. what is the best roadmap ( BW migration or fresh implementation under HANA ) ?

2. Any issue if our BW under HANA and ERP under oracle ?

3. BOBJ and BPC under HANA stable ?

4. if our current BW under oracle is free , if we implement BW on HANA then what is the impact on license it's also free or we will pay hana license cost

5.  Advantages of implementing HANA versus traditional BI?

Regards

Hi Khizer,

Below are my recommendations.

1) As you have already said that the implementation of the current BW system is not very good and there are only a few reports, it would makes sense to do a complete new implementation using the latest BW version of 7.5 . There are two flavours of the BW 7.5 as shared by Srinivasan above, please refer the links for the details.

2) There will be no issue if your BW is on HANA DB and ERP is on Oracle.

3) I am not sure if BOBJ and BPC are perfectly stable on HANA as SAP is still working on some issues with both. You can refer to BOBJ and BPC community for their experience with HANA DB.

4) I am not sure about the license .

5) I did not understand what do you mean by HANA vs traditional BI. HANA is a DB and if you mean what is the difference between using BW on HANA and BW on any DB , then I would say it all depends on your requirement. If your BW reporting needs require performance and latest and upto date SAP BW solutions, you can use HANA, else BW on any DB is always an option.
