Hi PI gurus,
Average Memory Utilization is 90% ,
Please note below:
1. synchronous message message count daily is approx 60000
2. Memory is 36 GB - In use -32.8 GB and Available 3.2 GB
3.CPU average utilization is 3%
We are worried that Memory utilization can go high , which can cause issues.
Please help us and let us know if we need to increase to RAM or there is some other issue for such high memory utilization?
Regards,SV
Hi Experts,
I have been observing system for many days and i found memory utilization is 93% all the times even when there is very less load.
Please suggest how to resolve this?

Hi Sarvjeet,
in case you need more resource to process this amount of messages every day (and also the size of the messages and the used mappings are important), you might increase the heap size, add more server nodes and cpu and RAM to the system.
Or it might be also a good idea to check if this memory usage is high also at the times when there is not much load on the system. In this case it worth to generate heap dumps and to analyse it using the memory analyser tool to see what objects are using too much memory.

Hi Experts,
I want to few more details as below:
There are 5 java cluster nodes running in parallel.
Parameter messaging.syncMessageRemover.checkInterval is 5.
Please help.
Thanks

Hi Sarvjeet,
Are you checking this from RWB. If it is , I will request you to check once with your Basis team so that they can check and confirm actual throughput from OS level,
I have seen most of the time consumption of memory displayed in RWB is inconsistent and the scenario may not be the same in the OS level.
Thanks,
Apu

Hi,
If this is the case in OS, then you need to think about tweaking your exist scenarios wherever possible and check how much it helps. You can try packaging , parallel processing, prioritizing queue to reduce max parallel processing at a time.
If all those dont help then only option left to go for costlier solution that is setting up extra memory.
Thanks,
Apu
Hi Sarvjeet,
The memory utilization is alarming and you should perform the performance check on PI/PO server. Please refer the below sap note
also check the SAP PI configuration from the below SAP note
