Oracle RDB Driver set up for universe connections

Hi,

I have a universe in BO XI 3.1 which uses Oracle RDB Driver to connect to Oracle RDB database.

And in UDT, I used Generic ODBC data source as middle ware which connects via the above DSN to the Oracle RDB database.

Now, I have migrated this universe from BO XI R3 to BO 4.1 SP 7.1 using upgraded management tool.

We don't have Oracle RDB driver in 4.1 server as Oracle is not supporting this driver anymore.

I am not sure which driver I have to use to replace this?

Would really appreciate if you have any solution/workarounds.

Hi

Just ask your oracle guys to install standard oracle client and then create the universe connection from the scratch and assign it to you universe, that's that. RDB imho is ODBC connection

Use supported JDBC drivers for the connection.

It is not recommended to use unsupported drivers, using unsupported drivers can cause unpredictable results like performance impact slowness etc.

Were you able to connect RDB with BOBJ 4.1 SP 7 .

We are also trying to connect RDB with BOBJ .
