Transporting portal objects

Hi,

I'm trying to transport for the first time between our DEVELOPMENT box and our PRODUCTION box. It seems from our DEV box I can export a transport package. In the PRD box when I goto IMPORT I do not see the transport. It seems the exports on the DEV box are pointing to this directory;

D:\usr\sap\EPD\SYS\global\pcd\Export

And our import directory on our PRD box points to this directory;

D:\usr\sap\EPP\SYS\global\pcd\Import

Obviously the D: drive on either server is not the same. It's unclear to me how it is supposed to make the connection. How does it know where the PRD server is in order to export there?
