reverse bom

hello guys,

i'd like to create a bom for a mining industry the scenario is like the child item is the finished good and the mother rock is the raw material,

i have been suggested in the net to go through reverse bom,, any one please put some info on reverse bom,, the same exact scenario is in diamond industry,, where many small diamonds are formed from the mother diamond?????
