ADSO two new tables significance and usage

Hi Experts,

As you all might know. Advanced DSO consists of 5 tables. Wanted to know the significance and usage of below mentioned tables in advanced DSO.

/BIC/A.......6 = View for extraction

/BIC/A.......7 = View for reporting

    Hi Raj, THese 2 are views generated automatically by the system on activation of an aDSO. They are generated to enable the structure be made known and accessible through OpenSQL methods. You can check the definations of these views in HANA Studio.

    Hi Ravi,

    if activate the ADSO it will generate the 5 tables

    1.active 2. new 3. change log table

    /BIC/A.......6 = View for extraction

    /BIC/A.......7 = View for reporting


    below 2 are the views

    /BIC/A.......6 = View for extraction

    /BIC/A.......7 = View for reporting


    1, 2,3 tables are transparent table.


    6, 7 are views


    ex - if you have BW and APO system, some time APO want data from the BW system for planning purpose.

    at that time we can create the generic data source using RS02 in bw system.


    but now no need to give active data table , but you can use the views (6,7). you may get data.


    we did same for our project.

      Thanks for your reply.

      Is there any difference between

      /BIC/A.......6 = View for extraction

      /BIC/A.......7 = View for reporting

      Seems like all the fields become key field in view 7 (/BIC/A.......7).

      Also I was bit curious to see that both 6 and 7 view is based on New table (/BIC/A.......1) . As we know that new table data gets deleted on activation. In that case how come view /BIC/A.......6 and /BIC/A.......7 depicts data post data activation and not prior activation.

      Also on what basis you choose the apt one amongst the view 6 and 7 for designing the generic datasource.

      Performance wise would table be better option than view as this view(data at run time) is just based on one table(Table/Join Conditions in se11).

      Kindly let me know your thoughts.
