Alternatives to ccBPM

Hi,

Currently we're looking to migrate out of the usage of ccBPM.

One of the ccBPM used is a 2 step whereby there's a prerequisite process that is required to be completed before executing the second process.

What are the other alternatives to use instead?

Thanks

John

Hi John,

Before giving you any suggestion whether your ccBPM process can be replaced completely or not , we need to know your IP functionality/ steps elaborately.

Please come up with more description so that we can give you accurate answers.

Thanks,

Apu

Hello John,

Please post what exactly is the process.

Hi Raguraman,

The process is:-

  1. Calls RFC to retrieve information from SAP
  2. Based on the information retrieved perform posting in SAP
  3. After posting send the return information to 3rd Party

Thanks

Hi John!

As I've said before your first two steps could be combined in one scenario with RFC-lookup.

Hi John!

1. Is the sender system in first step the same system which gets the return information in third step?

2. Is posting in SAP system the syncronous or asyncronous operation?

Hi John!

This depends on what steps each of your processes performs.

For example, if the first process performs SOAP, RFC or JDBC request and then the second process uses the data received from previous request, you can use one graphical, java or XSLT mapping with lookup inside it.

In other case, If your PI system is SAP PO, you can use NetWeaver BPM instead of ccBPM.

Hi Evgeniy,

Is the migration from ccBPM to NetWeaver BPM complex? I suppose manual migration is required as there are no tools to do so?

Also we're on 7.4 Dual Stack does this mean that NetWeaver BPM is available?

Thanks

John

Hi John!

No, NetWeaver BPM is the part of SAP Process Orchestration, not dual-stack PI system.
