transaction IL21

Hi all,

could someone explain the use of transaction IL21 in sap pm ? What's the goal of this t-code ?

As far as I know, IL21 does not work in Standard SAP PM but a similar transaction, IL17 can be used instead. IL21 executes IL17 for mass changes.

The main usage of this IL17/IL21 are when you are updating a Functional Location or an Equipment if the one of the sub-equipmen/sub-functional location is blocked by another user during the time of the data change, and the data is not updated in the lower levels.

For example you are updating the Cost center in Functionalo Location and if this change must be copied to the lower levels and somehow someone is blockingone of the lower level equipment records, the user of the Functional location will receive an error message... the equipment which is not updated will be in the list in IL17 (or IL21) and time to time someone should go and clean up IL17 queue.
