Hi Guys

I am having a weird issue with my Webi report where the totals for a column are different in Webi but when the same report gets exported to excel, and when I manually try to add up the nos , I get a different figure in excel...

Cant understand whats happening!

I have fixed it.

Just fiddled around with my detailed dimension and added the person_id to the 'associated dimension'.

It all works fine now as expected.

Thanks for all the inputs

Hi Guys

I found out what the issue is but do not know how to resolve...

There is a column for email address which is skewing the results...

What happened was I found out there was a particular group which does not show up in the excel export ... The totals from this group reflects in BO but it is not visible in webi report either.

To make it visible,  I have to remove a column called email address and when I remove this, that group becomes visible.

The totals in the report comes from universe B but that email column comes from Universe A ..

I tried to make this column as a detail but it still does not make that missing group visible...

Any ideas around this??

Have you tried with =sum( total object) forall(group object)

yes I tried that but it makes no difference to the report totals when exported to excel. It still shows less..

My issue relates to this SAP note below:

1760938

But the resolution does not work for me...

It says to change the data type of the object to "Not be HTML" in the Universe.

But the data type is 'char' for the email address in the Universe...

Where is that option in the universe?

How big is the difference? Must be something to do with the display of decimal precision on WebI report if difference is not big.

If difference is huge, pls check if the Sum in WebI report is being performed on the same object which is being displayed in the column.

HI Kashif

tthe difference is huge... And yes I have done all those basic checks.. Although the the report has some merged dimensions.. Could that make a difference?

Can you drag the objects of the Data Provider where that column is present in another tab in the report and sum it up and check what value you get?

in webi total try with Foreach or forall function and try.Without seeing the data it's difficultly to say anything.

=sum(column) foreach (include the dimensions which are in the query but not in the table)

=sum(column) forall (include the dimensions which are in the webi table)
