Hi,

at ISUGtech last year, Rob Verschoor talk about this feature. It's suppose to be in ASE15.7 SP130 (and yes it's in the doc What's new) and in ASE16SP01 but there's nothing in the doc about this. I also look at the ASE16SP02 doc and found nothing.

I have ASE16SP01 and the command does not work.

Can somebody tell when this feature will be put in ASE16? and in what SP it will be?

And why new version does not have all the features that old version have. It does not make sense...

thanks.

Hi Mark,

I was looking in the Reference Manuel.

I have found the reference in Transact-SQL guide.

I was trying to do it outside of the SP (directly in isql) but I can see that it's only possible is only possible in the SP.

Thanks!

I've put in an internal request to have the Reference Manual entry on SELECT updated with the syntax and description of the new FOR RECOMPILE option.

Cheers,

..this functionality was extended to include more DML statements (update, delete, insert but NOT select into or merge) in 15.7 SP136 and 16 SP02PL02 and SP01PL03. Those docs probably need updating too.
