Hello Srinivas,
I am looking out for the help on configuring Additional Customs Classification code in US normally its Chapter 98.
Those are uploaded and maintained in GTS Area menu --> Customs Management --> Classification --> Classification master Data --> Additional Customs Tariff Numbers
I am not able to find the way to classify the product with Additional Tariff number and how the number is reflecting in Import Declarations?
Thanks & Regards
Rahul
Thanks Pushpraj,
So you mean to say that there is no possibility to classify the product in master data and its solely a manual activity to maintain classification in Import declaration --> Item --> General Data --> More Tariff code Numbers field which supports to classify upto 5 additional HTS.
Is there any validation / incompletion check which suggests to classify the product with Additional code as user may miss out the classification maintenance in document.
Thanks & Regards
Rahul
Hi Rahul,
You can assign additional tariff scheme to the numbering scheme of tariff code numbers as coding scheme. You need to also upload the additional chapters in the system either manually or with upload xml option. The system then adds these additional chapters in the classification help which you can call to assign them at item level during customs declaration processing. Whether or not you need additional tariff code for the item depends upon the tariff code which is assigned to product. If the additional tariff code is required for the product tariff code, system displays the function to assign these additional tariff codes at item level during document processing.
I am not sure if the requirement for additional tariff code is mandatory or optional but you can try with this additional coding scheme configuration step and then share the outcome on this thread.
Thanks - Pushpraj
Hello Pushpraj,
I tried to understand the statement but really confused
The system then adds these additional chapters in the classification help which you can call to assign them at item level during customs declaration. (could you please provide the path if possible).
Whether or not you need additional tariff code for the item depends upon the tariff code which is assigned to product (are we setting any indicator in production master or classification)
If the additional tariff code is required for the product tariff code, system displays the function to assign these additional tariff codes at item level during document processing (reminder / popup?)
Thanks in advance.
Rahul
Rahul,
Not sure if you are able to find the solution to your issue.
When you want to use additional tariff number - like you said - You will have to define the new numbering scheme for additional tariff code and assign this to the Tariff code in which you want to see this.
Once you do the above setting, you can see the additional tariff code option on the Import Declaration line item level and this value has to be entered every single time when the line item qualifies for special customs processing.
I doubt this can be added in the product master classification screen.
Please do let me know if you need any additional information. Thanks.
Regards
Rajesh
