Hi,
Why the system automatically generates in-process lot inspections if there's no MIC assigned at any phase at the recipe?
Of course, the material has assigned the 03 Inspection type at the material master but if there's no MIC assigned at any phase a lot inspection shouldn't be created. At least this was the behaivour of the system before.
Thanks.
Best Regards
OCS
Hi,
As per my knowledge, this is the SAP ERP standard behaviour to create Inspection lots when the Inspection Types are assigned to Material and Inspection plan (or Routing) or Material specification is also assigned to that Material (Prerequisites).
MICs are added to records the results only. Adding or removing of MICs do not affect Insp lot creation. These are the Inspection Types and Inspection plans who play the key roles in lots creation.
If you don't want to create Inspection lots for that particular Material just remove the Inspection plan or material specification.
See the process flow of Inspection lot creation.

Thank you S Ahmed.
So. Do You mean that even there wasn't a MIC assigned at any Routing/Recipe operation, for this material, the system will create an in-process inspection lot for this order only because the inspection class 03 is assigned at the material master?
Of course this material has assigner de inspection class 04 and has an Inspection plan for this purpouse.
Thank you.

Hi Oscar,
The inspection lot will be created based on the Material master-> quality view settings. If you are creating an order for a material, and 03 inspection type is assigned on it, system will create the inspection lot.
04 inspection is after the manufacturing is complete, whereas 03 is in-process (inspections during production process).
If you don't assign an Inspection plan and only activated 03 inspection type, then the inspection lot will be created with status CRTD. If there's a valid inspection plan, then the lot will have status REL.
If the MICs are also assigned to inspection plan, then user will be able to record result.
Hope it's clear
Thanks

Hi OCS,
I think Sarfaraz and Prem has already provided you the right answer. I will like to add one more point to make this point more clear to you.
Inspection type 03 is created with reference to routing information. For this case no inspection plan is required. MIC's needed to be added to particular operation, which would be in turn flicked to the Inspection lot of inspection type 03 when created. When this condition happens, your inspection lot will have system status CTRD. The production order, against which the in-process inspection lot 03 is created, will contain a system status ILAS along with other PP specific system status. At this point of time, the routing operations (which are suppose to be MIC managed, if NOT added) will all have system status REL.
But in case if MIC are added to the routing operation, and then in-process inspection lot 03 is created, then system status for different objects will be as below -
Production order --> ILAS
Production order --> Operation XXXX --> ICHA REL
Inspection lot --> REL CALC (As inspection MIC is already assigned now)
If Inspection lot is result recorded for this case, then the inspection lot system status will be INSP RREC and that specific operation system status will be ICHA QMDA REL...
Thanks,
Arijit
