Hello Ram
As long as they work with the same kernel versions, there is no problem in importing a TR from Dev to Prod
If you have same version of SAP, and same version for DB, same version of Kernel, then you are fine
in fact, all the TRs in Prod should come from Dev.

Hello Ram,
the short answer is that there is no answer. You do not forward transport requests from the development system into the production system.
The long answer is that a development from the development system needs to be thoroughly tested in the quality system with test data.
If a problem comes up, it can be fixed in the development system, the fix will be transported to the quality system, and testing can go on.
If you skip the quality assurance step, you are seriously threatening the productive system.
Other than this, I am not aware that different OS would cause problems.
First please test the transporting for example with https://wiki.scn.sap.com/wiki/x/_QClC.
After that, if you get an error message, you can detail what exactly has been done.
Best regards,
Laszlo
