Solution Manager BPM vs Netweaver/PI BPM

Hello experts,

Can anyone explain the difference within BPM on PI vs. BPM on Solution Manager? Are they the same or offer different features/purpose?  When does BRM come into play?

I assume SolMan BPM that you refer to is business process monitoring (BPMon).

From my perspective, NW BPM is WF execution engine. So based on the defined process, process is executed supported by WF step.

SolMan BPMon is monitoring tool (not execution engine). So it monitors the different status of business document, interface error, job error.
