WEBI - Consuming HANA Views directly limitation

Hi Friends,

I want to create a WEBI report which is based on a HANA view of a SAP ECC system.

I could see an option of directly connecting WEBI report with HANA views in WEBI Rich client, instead of creating an universe and then connecting with WEBI. This is true that this option is not available with BI Launchpad WEBI as shown below.

I successfully created a WEBI report on top of a HANA view in Rich Client and saved it in my BO repository. But when I login into BI Launchpad and try to view/open the same report, it throws an error as shown below.

I tried the same operation with another WEBI report which is created on top of a BEX query, its behaving normal in BI Launchpad which gives me an impression that there is an issue with WEBI report on top of HANA views in BI Launchpad.

Please help me in letting me know on how can I use the WEBI reports on top of HANA views in BI Launchpad.

Environment

-----------------------

SAP BI BO 4.1 SP7

SAP HANA 1.0 SP11

Thanks,

Gaurav

    Hello Gaurav,

I think it could be an access issue as I do not see any reason that it will be available from Rich Client only.

Please check below thread that says it works with DHTML.

    • It is very late to reply to this question, probably you would have figured out the issue. I think, it may be helpful to have the answer here.

Actually, your client tools are on BO 4.2 so that you can see HANA connections. However, your BO platform is 4.1 SP 7, which was not compatible to have HANA online datasources in WEbi launch pad.

      Thanks
