Multiple WBS to one Asset Linkage

Hi,

We are facing one situation where one Asset is got linked to multiple WBS elements.

Please guide me what could be the reason for this situation please.

HI ,

I had the same issue the reason is that we when we copy the Project or WBS element from the existing system copies that Settlement rule as well., both Settlement rule WBS to AUC and AUC to Fixed asset .

If you still want user to copy from existing  project  then make sure User delete the Settlement rule in new project and create new rule .

So its always preferable that you create standard template for projects and WBS elements .

You can test this in your test system ...

Hi Mahavir,

I have seen this and i dont know what is the problem. When doing the Settlement from WBS/AuC to FXA, same FXA can be linked to multiple WBS element depend upon the business scenario.

Why do you feel it is a problem ?

Hi,

Actually we have a business scenario where one WBS to link to only one FXA.

Earlier it was working completing fine but now without making any change (as per my knowledge), this kind of situation has occurred.

We do not have any scenario where multiple WBS elements are required to be linked to one Asset.

Please guide.

What will happen if the Asset is assigned to Multiple WBS element, will the system give any error message or information.

As per your information, some restriction was in place earlier, but it not working now, is that true ?

Hi Mahavir,

System doesn't stops you from linking one asset with multiple wbses.. So if you have developed such check then you need to sit with your technical team to check why the validation is failing..
