2 step Stock Transfer between 2 plants

Hi,

Our Company needs to handle stock transfer between 2 plants (the onshore plant in Europe while the offshore plant is in International water zone, there is a customs Control in between). The onshore plant serves as purchasing plant for the offshore plant. Material will be transfered to the offshore from the onshore when it required

Our process is:

1. A reservation will be triggered when Work Order is created from PM.

2. MRP run for both plants

3. Based on the reservations created, Stock Transfer should be created for the offshore plant and PR will be created for the onshore plant if there is stock shortage

2 step stock transfer between 2 plants will be used since it is not allowed to have stock posted directly to the offshore plant if they are not yet arrived physically, otherwise it may have problem with customs.

There are 2 ways to do stock transfer between plant

1. STO

2. Transfer Posting

But since 2-steps stock transfer cannot be planned by using reservation according to the SAP instruction, do you have any suggestions on how stock transfer can be triggered based on Reservation during the MRP run?

Hi, Here a question is do the both plants belongs to the same company code or differrant compeny code ? If the delivering plant is made in the MMR of Offshore Plant then requirements triggered for the Onshore plant . Normally a reservation will be for the pupose of an account assignment . Here in this case it is a work order for PM in the Off shore Plant . Means if the Off shore plant have stock then that stock can be allocated for the reservation . Reservation will not serve as a requirement for the supply plant . Is in your case if a work order created genertates a requirement in your On site plant ? If so your requirement is fulfilled . Receive that stock and consume against the work order .What is the problem ? An STO is sufficient for the same . Offshore requirement generates a PR in theONSITE plant and procures and ships to Off shore for work order consumption against the reservation .Is this not suficient ? Regards,
