BOM creation for trading goods and consumption of child items without any production order

Hi! All,

We are dealing in trading goods, for which I have defined a BOM, to trigger planning for all the child components (e.g. packing items, warranty cards etc).

We are not doing any production activity for this trading goods, but we are packing the final item without any production order creation. My client wants to continue with same stock no for both Unpacked stage and Packed stage. So, we are doing just BIN transfer from one bin (material in Unpacked condition) to another bin (Material in packed condition). He want these child items to be consumed at this stage for bin transfer into cost center.

I have maintained the BOM with packing items only as BOM items, since FG stock is same as SFG stock.

Pls help, how to complete this scenario.

Hi Satish,

I do not think there is link between WM bin transfers and costing.

It would be advisable to create a order type with settlement to cost center for packing and use production orders to map this scenario.

This is just storage location transfer, not WM bin transfer and my client has specifically said, he does not want to create any production order as this is trading goods.

hi Satish,

you have to customize it to achieve this. when you transfer the goods in mb1b. it will trigger the exit based on the movement and trigger a 201 movement(consumption for cost center) for its bom component.

you can also create one production order with high qty and do the consumption for that. or you can create planned order and do the mfbf for the components by triggering bapi.
