It is always a good idea to search for the error you see in the SAP knowledge library, which you can access from support launchpad. https://launchpad.support.sap.com/

Symptom

After upgrading from BI 4.1 SP06 to BI 4.2 SP02 if we add objects to the promotion job and try to click on the manage dependencies we receive the below error:-

Sorry, Promotion management application is unable to process your request.

The error from the server is: Failed to get dependencies of the job.(PRS 00048)com.businessobjects.sdk.biar.om.OMException$StorageException.

Environment

SAP BusinessObjects Business Intelligence 4.2 SP2

Windows/Linux

Tomcat8

Reproducing the Issue

Upgrading from 4.1SP6 to 4.2SP2.

Login to CMC as Administrator.

Go to Promotion Management.

Create a new Job.

Select the objects to be promoted.

Click on "Manage Dependencies".

Error: "Sorry, Promotion management application is unable to process your request. The error from the server is: Failed to get dependencies of the job.(PRS 00048)" is displayed

Resolution

We cleared the temp *derby* files from the C:\windows\temp location and restarted the tomcat server.

We removed the systems from CMC--Promotion Management-->Manage systems, created a new APS , restarted it.

you will be able to add the dependant objects successfully.

Hey Ram

We are experiencing the same issue. We have tried all the suggestions (thanks Denis) but none of them are working.

Have you found a solution to this?

Antonette,

I believe Ram marked the answer from Denis as the correct answer. You may want to try that for your situation as well.
