Deleting attributes from a planning area

Former Member

Hi all,

I have created two attributes, then assigned them to a master data type and then assigned them to planning area.

Eventually, I will not need those attributes so I decided to delete them them.

So I first tried to delete them from the planning area, then from the MDT and finally from the attributes catalog. However, the activation of the planning area in order to confirm the deletion of the attributes, failed.

Nevertheless, now those attributes are deleted from the MDT where they belonged before, but not from the planning area. And the issue is that they cannot be found anymore in the planning area although the system (when going to the attributes tile) appears those attributes and it also tells me that they are used in the planning area but in none MDT and in none time profile.

Would you please have the pleasure to help me with that issue?

Thank you very much for your time

Hello Vasilis

Were you able to successfully activate the planning area after deleting the attributes? If you are able to see the attribute in the planning area used list even after the successful activation, then you can create a message to remove the attribute from the planning area from the backend.

Thanks

Hi Parveen,

Thank you very much for your time.

Actually, I would say that I face the opposite issue. The activation was not successful and the system tells me that the attributes are still used by the planning area.

However, they are deleted from their MDT and cannot be found anymore in the planning area despite the indication that I described you above.

Best regards

Hello Vasilis

I think the attribute should not have been removed from MDT before the successful activation of planning area.

I would propose the following.

1. Add the attribute to master data, activate the MDT and then try activating the planning area. If the planning area is successfully activated, then you can delete the attributes from MDT.

2. We can try to resolve this inconsistencies from the backend. But I would prefer to do this if the option 1 doesn't work. You can create an incident for this option.

Thanks
