Hey Guys,

Subject: trying to retrieve a unx from the BI platform.

So I got a message to update my then C4A_AGENT 1.0.5 to the 1.0.7 version (now). Well, that upgrade wasn't very fruitful.

I am getting the error below. I have tried:

- Deploying and Undeploying the agent multiple times.

- Stop / start tomcat service multiple times

- Making sure HCC is configured correctly

And most importantly

- I received the "200" message.

Hello Mohammed Hiwani,

Have you installed SAP JVM 8.1 on the server and set the environment variable for the same ?

Also could you please try to access the below URL and share the message you are getting after accessing it.

http://<IP address / Hostname>/C4A_AGENT/service/api/epm/bw

Hi Qadir,

Yes of course, I don't believe HCC can work without JVM.

And yes, like I mentioned in my post, I have received the "200" message when I visited that link.

Hi Mohammad Hinawi,

Can you attach some screenshots of your C4A agent configuration and HCC configuration?

Can you confirm the correct Java version ?

Use the following commands to check the Java version Tomcat is loading, and change the environment variables accordingly.

cd "C:\Program Files (x86)\SAP BusinessObjects\tomcat\bin"

catalina version

Also are there any errors in the Tomcat logs? I also suggest reviewing this blog to make sure everything is set right:

Thanks,

Hi John,

Thank you for all the suggested steps above. I managed to resolve the issue.

The issue was hidden in the S-User used in the Cloud connector. When I used the admin's S-User, it worked.

I haven't figured out what is defining difference that makes the admin's s-user work vs. a regular s-user. I would appreciate if SAP can look into this and perhaps create a note?

Dear Mohammed Hinwani,

We had the same issue, we were able to trouble shoot it after changing the username to c4agent in the tomcat-users.xml, restarting the tomcat and maintaining the same in the SAP cloud for analytics.

Please check the username, role you have assigned in the tomcat-users.xml

Please let me know if the issue is resolved.

Hello Qadir,

I tried your suggested remedy with no success

By the way, my C4A_AGENT sits on the same tomcat used by the BI platform. I don't see a cause for conflict but just throwing this out there.
