Hi Shridhar,

Are you asking the testing the report output  , mean data is correct or not.

You can test the report data With MDX Query generated by the Business object.

Use the transaction MDXTEST in BW side and run the query.  Now you can check where is problem in BW side or BO side and you can resolve the issue.

Hello Sridhar,

Basically there is no specific way you can test Webi report.

But to get it tested you need to go through the End user requirement document.

1. Test the expected layout of the report.

2. Export the report to the desired O/P that end user has requested and get it verified.

3. Check report level Font size and colors if anything mentioned in requirement specification.

4. Run the report against multiple criteria to test the results.

5. Check the data that you are getting in the report and the data you have it in backend for the data validation part.

6. Run the report against bulk data to perform Load testing so that you can make the client aware on how much data can be handled.

7. Check the Prompts if they are coming up properly and their prompt texts are user understandable.

8. You also may need to check the security aspects of the BO reports.

9. If you have scheduled instances then you need to test the Scheduling part of the report as well.

10 Make sure your reports data is sorted as per user requirement.

11 You have to test the report in both best case and worst case scenarios so as to know the corrective solutions.

12 Also you may have to test what needs to be done when there is no data in the report.

Prepare a checklist with similar type of what I mentioned above.
