How to use one parameter for two different subreports

Hi there

I have a report in which a valuation amount is given (for the same items) in two different subreports. Is there any way to set up a parameter (in this case, for entry of currency code), that can be used in both subreports?

Can anyone advise?

cheers

Karen

Hi Karen,

Create a formula for valuation amount and pass this formula across different sub reports using Edit Sub report links.

Thanks for your reply Niraj.

Could you explain how to do that? When I add this field to the subreport linking table, it prevents the underlying records from being included in the report (because the parameter field is not a database field).. so I end up with a blank subreport.

Can you explain the steps to adding the field to the subreport, other than putting it in the linking box?

cheers

When you Edit Sub report Link just select that Formula under fields to link and un-check the option "Select data in Sub Report Based on Field" this will just pass that formula to your sub report and will nit restrict to anything in record selection.

Once you are done with that you should be able to see that in Parameter list of Sub Report.
