Hello,

I created a report with a bex query as data source. My Report ist grouped by the characteristics block, question and level. On the group header of the block I want to display a vertical line chart which overlaps the underlying sections. Therfore I use as Category (X) the question char and in Total (Y) the keyfigure. Now my chart don't display any data if the keyfigure is set to delegated. If I switch it to sum operation the chart show the data correctly, but I get a warning, that delegated is the recommended operation. Can anybody tell me why?

Thanks

Hello Gerrit,

In BO you have two different types of measures/Key figures Delegated and Smart measures.

Delegated measures are the measures that requires aggregations explicitly at report level.

Smart measures are the measures that are intelligent enough to aggregate based on the dimensions that you have used.

Now in your case when you have those as delegated measures since the aggregations are not applied at group level they show up as 0 but when you apply aggregation it shows up correct value.

Here's a document below that should help you with Delegated and Smart Measure though it is for Webi but you will have an idea about these two types.

Hi Niraj,

Smart Measures and Delegated Measures are NOT different - they're the same!

Measures, when set as 'Delegated', are passed over to the database for processing - they're not aggregated in the report.

Gerrit, what version of Crystal Reports for Enterprise is this (version, support pack, patch)? My guess is that this could be an issue with a certain Support Pack/Patch. Have you tried to upgrade to the most recent SP/Patch?

We use 4.1 SP7 FP3

I've now created a Formula with the value of the keyfigure and the formula assigned to the chart. Then I don't get a warning.

In the formula, does it use 'Sum' or 'Delegated'?
