Setting tables/cells to partially transparent background

Hello,

I have a report which has a watermark as the background. This watermark is being hidden by a table which has a grey background color. I wanted to know if there is a way to make the table partially transparent so that I can see the watermark as well as read the text in the table? I have attached a sample pic.

Thanks for your help.

Hi all,

Thanks for your suggestions, but I'm not sure if you guys understood my question. I know how to make a cell transparent (simply choose the "no color" option) but I wanted to have a background color of the cell as well as make it transparent i.e partially transparent. In my sample image attached earlier you can see the watermark "confidential" is being hidden by the table which is grey in color. I want to keep that grey color as well see the background "confidential" watermark. I realize I'll have to lighten the grey background or darken the watermark in that area which is fine.

Hope I made the question clearer now. Also sorry I forgot to mention that I'm on BO 4.1 SP 5.

Thanks

Hello Mohammed,

I would suggest you to insert a cell in your Report.

Make the size of the cell so as it occupies your reporting Area.

Format the cell according to your need like if you want to show up a image in the background then make the Read Content as Image.

Now create a table over the Cell and insert data on to that table as per your need.

Please find attached screen shot for the result that I got from the above approach. This would work in 3.1 as well I believe.

Hi,

I remember using a work around in r2 and 3.1 versions adopted tips from some blog on adding a watermark logos in report.

Here are the tips that might help:

1. Add the logo as a background image to the section where you want to it to be and do the necessary position adjustments according to the requirement.

2. Number if there is any table or cell blocking the logo, just click on the cell, and then click on the properties tabs.

3. Now click on the background color and delete the numbers there and press enter.

4. This will make the cell transparent.

Note: There are certain limitations to this method, like the choosing the background color of the cell and table should be the same as the background color of the report or the background color of the logo image itself.

Thanks,

Jothi

I guess that is not possible on 3.1 but yes in 4.x (due to you cannot remove pattern in 3.1)

Yes Pablo Dinamik, you can correct. This can only be done in BI 4.x versions
