SAP B1 Inventory tables Update

Former Member

Hi,

Can anyone explain to me the link between the stock transaction tables in SAP business one? ie;

OIVL

PDN1

INV1

Can you directly update OIVL via DTW and would this then be reflected in PDN1 and INV1? Or do you have to upload to the separate tables and OIVL is just a summary table?

Thanks in advance for your help!

Mark

Hi

you cannot update tables through SQL statements. You can loss the SAP warranty for this database.

If you update OIVL through DTW this operation will be reflected in another tables. If you add records in OINV/INV1 OPDN/PDN1 tables this will be reflected in inventory tables (if these documents do not have previous document and they are item type).

Kind regards

Thanks Agustin,

I am aware that SAP don't allow direct database access. However, is it possible to update OIVL through DTW? Or is the correct process to load Receipts, Issues and Transfers individually into their respective tables?

Best,

Hi,

You have to load Receipt, Issues and transfer separately and then only OIVL table will be updated automatically.

Thanks

Hi

you have to use the transaction you need, never updates in inventory tables. Why?

Because, first, it is illegal, and second, all stock transactions make several operations in different tables to adjust the stock, the log, the BP if it is neccesary, ,...

As Nagarajan says right, only the transactions can be used.

Kind regards

OIVL is the inventory transaction log table, on top of it, SAP have a special view OINM which will give u more info about the transaction, where you will be able to find if the transaction is from PDN or INV.

That's how it links.
