When using Hierarchy restiction on key figures, Bex Query giving dump

Former Member

Hi Experts,

I am facing an strange issue. I have bex query where i have created a Global CKF. In my Bex query i have used that CKF more than once and Restricted with different G/L Hierarchy Levels.Earlier report was running fine.

When I run the report, after the selection value are given, Report goes to ABAP debugger and gives dump.I have analysed by creating a copy of Bex query and Found that when I use a single KPI with G/L Hierarchy restriction report runs fine, But when i restrict more than one KPI with G/L hierarchy, Report gives same dump.

Did any one faced such type of issue?

Please help me to resolve this issue.

Below are the screenshot of error message:

Regards,

Vikram

Hi Vikram,

I hate hierarchies.

Based on the symptoms you have described, it appears that the hierarchy restriction does not apply or work with the second restricted key figure.

Try displaying the characteristic upon which the hierarchy exists, as well as the hierarchy.

If the query runs with both key figures, then consider hiding the characteristic.

If this works, it means that the restricted key figures need to have the characteristic in the result set to process correctly. However, you can hide the characteristic.

Hope this helps,

Thanks so much John for your response.

I already sorted out the issue.

just dragged G/L Account Hierarchy in row from free characteristics it worked  fine but this is not a good solution to this issue.

But when transported to Quality system, Report is not running at all.

Hi Vikram,

If the query is working in Dev, but not QA, Consider recollecting all required objects for query in the transport collector. be sure to verify the that ALL query elements have a package assigned.

If some are missing, assign and re-transtort.

Good luck,

John Hawk
