Dashboard Vs WebI in different environments.

Hi All,

I have a dashboard designed and developed in SAP BO Dashboards 4.1 in X environment and need to point to webI reports' data which are in Y environment. As I don't have edit&save rights for the webI reports in X environment I am pointing to Y.

And hence, trying to edit & save the webI in Y environment which would the respective universes would point to X environment (eventually would pull X environment data) and dashboard could able to display the X environment data in the dashboard located in X.

Please let me know if this works or do we have any alternative to do this?

In simple terms a dashboard in one environment can point to webi reports' data in other?

easy way or recommended option to do changes in the universe connection.When you are building dashboard on webi via live office and need to move in next environment then you have to move all and change the connection details in the next environment.

If you can't change the connection details then you have to remap the Y webi reports in dashboard again to get it work.

okay, what I understand from your comments that we could able to connect webI reports from Dashboard which are sitting in two different environments.

Also, as per my investigation that as we dont have edit rights in X environment for webI which we need to edit the report and update the comments in-turn those comments would be picking up by the dashboard, I could see a different approach that create an excel sheet in X environment and update the required changes which are potentially required at the webI report and pull/pick those details from excel in to Dashboard? any comments.

changes in the excel are going to be static..how these are going to be help you?

If don't have access to change the connection details then ask your team to get it enable for you.That is the best option.

do you have access to change the universe connection detail? if yes change the X universe connection details to Y and see.
