Timeout Error while sending xml file to SAP Plant Connectivity

Hi All,

We are using a interface from SAP MII to PCo for transferring  the file. Some reason we can process all the messages from the Development system.

But in the QA system, some of the file transfer fails due to timeout error. We are connected the same PCo with development and QA server.

We increased the timeout to 120 sec and it does not help.

Attached are the error we get from PCo and MII log. Please let me know anyone can help on this.

Hi,

The PCo error indicates that you are have some configuration error either in MII or PCo for the connection between the two.

Please provide:

  • MII version and patch for Dev and QA Servers each
  • PCo version and Patch
  • configuration for the Agent Instance Query tab
  • type of PCo Datasource defined in Dev, QA
  • which query template you use to send the file to PCo
  • size of the XML file

Below are the information

1. MII version - 15.0 SP5 patch3

2. Config Agent Instance - PCo AgentInstance.png

3.type of Data Source - PCoConnector

4. Query Template used - PCoQuery

5. size of xml file - 2.69kb

Please let me know if any other information needed. Waiting for the reply.

Hi,

  1. Does the file transfer fail on every attempt or just occasionally?
  2. Did you try transferring just a plain text file to test?
  3. Can you read a file from the Agent Instance using PCoQuery TagRetrieve Mode?
  4. When you place the PCo Agent Instance Log Mode to Verbose, do you get any additional messages associated with the transfer attempt?
  5. What Mode is the PCoQuery: TagStore or TagFixedQuery?

Hi Steve,

1.Occasionally. But happens for most of the PCo servers.

2. No only xml files.

3. Reading is working fine. We find issues only for writing.

4. No Even in Verbose mode, we get the same log.

5. Tag STore.

Restart of the MII server helped in the Quality system, after restart we are not facing issue.

But how to solve in production servers. Also not sure what is the solution.

Hi,

This will require a deeper dive into the issue, so I recommend that you open a support ticket against MFG-MII-CORE-RTE and provide the PCo and NW logs for details, along with the exact version and patch for both PCo and MII, as well as Netweaver.
