Hi experts!
If the customer gets the new SAP Fiori Cloud Edition for hosting the Launchpad, standard Fiori apps and some custom developed SAPUI5 apps, is on-premise Gateway server still required?
- If Gateway is still required, what is the purpose or added benefit?
- Does it pose any limitations to custom app development if there is no on-premise Gateway?
My initial conclusion is that Gateway is not necessary.
I'm basically looking for possible options to deploy a Launchpad in the Cloud while supporting also custom app development.

Ossi
Hi Ossi,
Customers can run SAP Fiori, cloud edition without/with Gateway. There is SAP HANA Cloud Platforn, OData Provisioning which handles OData on HCP.
You can also add additional apps to the SAP Fiori launchpoad. Most of the cases, it is not enough with the standard apps delivered in SAP Fiori, cloud edition.
