How do I re-initialize CR Explorers in standard tool bar. I attempted toggling the tool bars on and off the menu panels, shut down CR and shut down completely to reset the Developer. Is there anything else I should try?

What version of CR is this?
Please see if this helps:
Go to View > Toolbars > Check 'Reset all toolbars and explorers on next restart'.

The reset worked. Version is Developer 14.0.4.738 RTM.

One more question we are running our database on a Window NT 6/2 OS. Is there a better operating system that we can use to in conjunction with CR Developer? As with this operating system we are limited to the compiler type to run scripts, especially when automation is need. Will Crystal Reports have more capability as well on another OS?
