8KEP - Activating C&V Profile Errors - Material Ledger Activation

Hi Experts,

We are implementing transfer pricing with profit center valuation, and we are facing problems in activating C&V Profile.

When we try to activate C&V Profile in 8KEP we have the following warning and error messages. The activation is not possible:

• Warning message: Create a results analysis version for valuation view XXX (Message no. KJ464)
• Warning message: Transaction data exists for WIP calculation or results analysis (Message no. KJ468)
• Error message: Material ledger not active in valuation area YYYY (Message no. C+337)
• Error message: No material ledger type assigned to valuation area YYYY (Message no. C+304)
• Warning message: Actual data already posted in controlling area GTM

Important note: Our controlling area has multiple company codes assigned (with different currencies) and we only want to activate ML for 1 company code. The error messages are referent to the other plants/companies which are not supposed to be activated in ML. The same message appears for all the other non-activated plants below controlling area.

Has anyone tried such a scenario in a live system? Is it required to activate ML for all the company codes within the controlling area?

What could be the problem?

Hi Andrea,

You need to activate the ML for all plants in all company codes under the controlling area where you want to activate the multiple valuation approach.

You can refer the OSS note 122008 for further information.

Thank you for your reply.

I thought that it was only required to activate ML for all the plants / company codes in which the multiple valuation approach / transfer prices are to be activated!  Not ALL the plants / company codes in the controlling area (even those that are not relevant for transfer prices)!
