Any Warning about upgrade Afaria 7 SP5 to SP6?

Hi,

I wanna upgrade my Afaria Server and components from SP5 tp SP6

Any point of failure of trick during upgrade from this procedure?

OR

Can I upgrade from SP5 to SP7 or SP8 or higher directly?

I ask it because I have lots of problem during upgrade SP4 to SP5.

PS: I use SQL anywhere 12  and windows 2008. Afaria ersion: 7.00.6662.0 SP5

You should always back up your system before performing an upgrade. SP6 is a much less drastic change than SP5, but there is always someone who experiences problems.

You should also review the "Installing Afaria" document at SAP Afaria – SAP Help Portal Page for the version you are upgrading to.

After SP5, you can upgrade only two service packs at a time maximum. You can upgrade directly to SP7, but there have been some reports of problems if SP6 is skipped. I am not aware of any problems skipping service packs after SP6.

Tevfik,

You do not need to upgrade your sqlAnywhere from 12 to 16 although you certainly can.  Both are supported.  As Mike was saying, if you want to go to the latest service pack, I would install SP6, then every even one up to 14 which was released last Friday.
