First Migration and later Integration

Dear all,

I have the following case in front of me.

There is a project C4C with integration with ERP via HCI. Due some issue the networking part between ERP & HCI will delay. So it  was required to begin by doing data migration and when the connection is available, we'll  continue with the integration. It needed to be available for productive use.

What are the pain points on this?

Can we successfully bind the master data between these two systems when the integration happens?

Kind Regards,

Dimitris

Dimitrios,

If I understood your use case correctly, you want to do Manual Data migration using templates and Data Migration workbench for now and some time in future would be integrating ERP & C4C using HCI correct?

Although, this approach is something which would not be recommend, since thee idea approach would be to integrate first if integration is in scope and data has to come from ERP in your case and then perform data loads using integration.

There are couple of things you have to keep in mind if you still want to take the approach you mentioned:

1. You should do   all your code list mapping even if you are not performing data load through integration at this point in time.

2. Sales Org: Perform all the ID mapping for Sales Org, Sales Groups and Sales Office.

3. Customers and Product Master - After performing the manual load using DM workbench, ensure you do the Manual ID mapping for all the customer and Product Master records loaded so that when you integrate and when the Delta flows from ECC to C4C after integration, it does not end up in errors.

You will have to perform a lot of Data sanity checks if you integrate the ERP with C4C at a alter point in time and do manual data load first.

Thank you Ankur for your quick response and the details you have included.

Yes, the case you are describing it is the current we're running. I will come back if I have any further comment,

Kind Regards,

Dimitris
