Hi Experts,

We have a issue where a material batch is set for Restricted status in batch master, however material is still seen in unresrticted use stock in storage location view of material master. Material displayed in MARD is in unrestricted use and MCHB it shows in Restricted status.

Now the material is stuck and we are not able to do any material movement. whenever we try to change the batch status it gives error for deficit stock in Storage location (Restricted).

Request help!!!

Hello

There is a known program error that may lead to such kind of inconsistency on tables MARD and MCHB. The issue was caused by side-effect of note 1557108 and you should implement notes 1930161 and 1935699, in order to avoid future inconsistencies.

In order to fix inconsistent records, please open a new SAP OSS incident to the component MM-IM-GF-INC.

Regards

Caetano

I don't see any inconsistency from your description, it is just what the SAP design allows.

restricted in a batch is a sub status to any MM stock type.

Frankly spoken it means that the batch is not suitable for anybody in general, but can be sold to specific customers or can be reworked from production.

If you would move the material into MM blocked stock then you could not do anything with it.

As it is just standard design, your error message may be triggered by a different root cause.

But as you preferred not to share the exact error message nobody can really help you except with wild guesses that may waste anybodies time or just land a lucky punch.

Before you now start posting the exact message, I request you to search the forum with the message number and the message text as we have already several hundred discussions about this message (which I suspect on your vague information).

Hi Jurgen,

I think my description was misguiding, please refer below-

Batches are set with restricted status, in such case MARD table should have an update in restricted column, but in this case it shows material in Unrestricted column.

however If you refer below MCHB table batches are displyed as restricted to use.

Hope this is clear by now, it would be great if you can help in same with a correction program or anything else.

In that case you have to contact SAP Support for a correction, see details in OSS note 1248511 - Differences between storage location stock and batch stock

Hi, Please check your accounting view of the material master and MMBE and other valuated stock reports like MC.9 and MB62 ETC . What does they show ? What do you mean by restricted stock ? Does the batch is with the sttaus restricted ? Please check the materal movements happned for the material finding when the batch status is changed . SAP says it posts a material document when ever a batch status is changed . Regards,
