Hi Richard,
Surely you can use the PSA scenario with the pick parts, also if required you can proceed with release order parts.
You need to set up PSA in ECC first and then you can extract the same in EWM. As I already mentioned if you are using EWM managed PSA then you can configure different stock type for different departments (Production lines).
Normally, In ECC you need to create the staging request which eventually can be fulfilled in EWM if you maintain the correct master data like control cycle in ECC and PSASTAGE data in EWM.
If you are using higher version of EWM then using advance production integration you can create staging request in EWM itself with reference to production order.
Go through the SAP help for more details, to select the most suitable scenario for your business case.
Thanks,
Sandip
Hi Richard,
Production Supply area with EWM can be used in Production/Process (Manufacturing) Industries.
In most of the cases, when your warehouse and production are different entities then it is always recommended to use the PSA to have the clear identification of stock. In addition to this in EWM if you use separate EWM storage locations for each PSA then you can use the different stock types for PSA stock using availability group functionality.
Go through the link below for more information about the 4 different scenarios you can use in case of PSA integration with EWM.

Based on my experience, I recommend to use the PSA with separate EWM storage location with different stock type if you have more than 1 PSA and have space available to keep the stock in production area.
If you search, now a days advance Production Integration with EWM also available with the higher version.
hope this helps.
Thanks,
Sandip
