Refurbishment with serial number

Dear Forum,

My requirement is, client wants to have refurbishment process through Material with serial numbers but with out any equipment data.

They do not want to install/ dismantle and do not want to create equipment view for the specific material with serial number.

We did Serial number configuration with out any equipment category and without equipment proposal. System is able to create material with serial number and without equipment.

When I tried to create IW81 with this material and serial number and while saving, error: equipment does not exist and Exception error.

My question is though we are creating refurbishment order for Material with serial number only, why system is checking equipment master table?

With activating equipment view in IQ02 how do I create refurbishment order?
