Add/Edit Standard Infotype in ESS with workflow

I have a requirement in portal ESS.

If employee add/edit infotype 0002,0006,0009,0021, and 0022, it needs approval process from HR Admin employee. HR Admin can approve / reject. And for each step (submit,approve,reject,cancel,resubmit), there is notification email to the employee and HR Admin.

Can I use portal ESS standard Personnel Data (add/edit) to achieve that requirement? or should I create custom webdynpro application with workflow ?

Is there any exit in ESS standard so that I can insert my custom logic?

Is the approve request can also be implemented in portal ESS standard application for infotype 0002,0009,0021, and 0022?

In other way, you can use HCM Processes and Forms for this.

Use the application parameter WORKFLOW_MODE=X and PROCESS_GROUP= Customers can decide which of the Infotype/Subtypes are editable directly in Personal profile and for which others a workflow mode is required. This can be configured using customizing view V_T7XSSPERSUBTY or BAdI HRXSS_PER_SUBTYPE. Note: You must be using HCM P&F and configured workflow based processes to make the whole scenario complete

Client does not have HCM Processes and Forms in systems.

so Is there any alternate solution?

Hi Harshal,

In standard ESS personal data and personal profile you can't acheive. But we have Badi HRPAD00INFTYDB in this you can trigger your workflow so it wont go for the update instead it goes for approval.

If you want to acheive by standard SAP Process,

We have HCM Process and forms in that you can edit infotype and it goes for approval.
