-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I have checked with DBA, all seems to be OK.

We have deleted and recreated the database schema where BI table are stored but issue is still there.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

It seems that it is not a network issue.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I have unstalled and installed BI4.1 SP4 following the SAP notes and install once again, but issue is this there.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Usually i have no issues performing such an installation.

Any help would be really appreciated !

Thank you !

Best Regards,

Hi Denis:

If I ever face a problem like this, I would make sure to give more background details to my audience for them to help me.

Example: Is this a full install or you are upgrading from a previously working environment. More or less hardware resources you are using. It's a Virtual Box or Physical?    Do you have firewall rules between the database and the Application server? Can you login with full client applications?

I see before the CMS errors, there were other different type of errors:

*** Errors/Warnings found during the installation are as follows :

15:32:00.570 Error: Error code from call to Windows Installer API: 1612  ***

From what I see, I don't know that much to help further.

Hello Reinaldo,

Thanks for your fast answer.

It is a full installation.

It is vm ware so virtual

No firewall rules as we are on the same network

I can't loggin to any BI4 application.

Thank you for your help !

It could be difficult to find out without dedicating to o much time.

Usually, installations should go smooth and when that doesn't happen to me, then I reinstall it making sure I meet all prerequisites (as users installing the software and accessing the DB) as other third party software needed (Java and .Net levels)

Here it is another entry with a more extensive discussion from a topic similar to yours (in case you can't afford reinstalling it):

Denis:

It is my understanding you could Check your “<Install path>\SAP BusinessObjects\setup\packagestemp” for any files after running any install or patch.

..."Why? Any files here will strongly suggest something went wrong. What’s great though, is you can fix things typically by just running a repair. If the repair doesn’t resolve the problem and files remain here, then you’ll need to take manual action! This isn’t as straightforward but there is a process. Look in the logs and look for the command that called the file, just before it will be the OS command. Repeat the OS command and see what it says "...
