Dear All

My colleague use standard tools for writing addon for on premise, it is no problem. But she try to put this addon on cloud, it doesn't work.

Is it program issue or tool issue?

Edmund

There's no difference on cloud and on-premise deployment for add-on. Can you post the error?

Dear Bryan

no error message.

When run on on premise, it can import.

When run on cloud, it is no feedback.

Hi Edmund,

Are you running the addon from the Browser Access or through a Terminal Service?

Dear Pedro

I use remote desktop to remote on the cloud. and then startup the addon, then I can see the addon like on premise. I use the same method to process. But it didn't have any feedback.

I would like to know, is it the source code have any different between premise and cloud?

Hi Edmund,

Theoretically you can use the same addon with no changes. Reality is that with some environments (Citrix, etc...) or the Browser Access do have some "incompatibilities". As an example, using browser access will "disable" some events. If your addon makes use of those events, it won't work.

You also mention an "import", can you describe in more detail specifically what is not working?

Does the addon start (you can check the windows task manager and look for your addon exe)?

Another approach is to add some logging to your addon, to check if it connects and if some exception is occurring and being silently "swallowed".

Dear Pedro

Thanks for your reply.

I only use remote desktop to connect to the cloud B1.

The addon is just allow the user to input the path, and click the import button, then the Excel file/ CSV file's content can be upload into the system.

I will ask my colleague to use your approach to trace the issue.

Hi,

Have you tried the Extension Packager or LightWeight Add-on Deployment? It should help for your cause.
