Dear Experts,

I wonder if theres any point of configuration which links the Product Catalog functionality with the Sales Order Type configuration.

My question since into Retail documentation there's something which suggests this relation.

Below the URL and some of the text of the SAP documentation.

https://help.sap.com/saphelp_utilities472/helpdata/en/59/bfe68bec2111d2b7e30000836c64dc/content.htm

"Prerequisites

If you want to use article order numbers rather than article numbers, you must first change Customizing settings for sales documents. For each sales document type, you can choose whether sales orders are to use the R/3 article number or the article order number."

Appreciate your answers.

Best Regards,

Hi Daniel,

the link you have shared is referring to the following custominzing setting:

SPRO --> Sales and Distribution --> Sales --> Sales Documents --> Sales Document Header --> Define Sales Order Types --> mark the sales order type to be changed and click on "Details" --> Field "Article Entry Type"

With that, you can customize, if the article number entered in the SO has to be the SAP article number entered or if the corresponding product catalog should be determined (either with the article order number or the SAP article number).

Hope it helps.

Regards
Tobias

Hi Tobias,

Thanks a lot for your answer! I was able to find the customizing point.

Just one clariffication. The exact name of the field is "Material entry type" .

May I ask you whether you know about or maybe have some documentaion in which I can understand how to download the information of articles from the Product Catalog?

Thanks in advance for the information you can share.

Hi Daniel,

no, if you have an SAP IS Retail system, the exact name is "Article entry type".

Regarding your question: I don't quite understand what you mean by "download the information from the product catalog". The product catalog can be maintained in SAP as well, see SPRO --> Logistics - General --> Product Catalog. The data can then be created from the user and so, the data is also present in the SAP System - so no need to download any information if the SO is created in the same system where the product catalog is maintained.

Hi Daniel,

If you want to share or send the product catalog to any other 3rd party system, you can check transaction code VPRICAT to download the catalog using PRICAT IDocs.
