Install BI Platform 4.2 on Windows Server 2008

Hello All,

I just purchased the SAP BI Edge solution, but I haven't install it yet.. I was going through the installation manual, and it said the with full installation the Tomcat 8 will automatically get installed and configured... so my question is:

While Tomcat is going to be installed, then what should be my Windows Server role? (if I make my server role as "Web Server IIS" would that cause any issue to the BI Platform 4.2)?

it should not. Instead of doing this, setup a separate IIS server and use the Tomcat redirector to get to BO Tomcat server.

As mentioned by other you would configure bridge between IIS (Port:80) to Tomcat 8.x (Port:8080).

    Hello Ferris,

I came across your post and wanted to reach out to you or anyone regarding proper configuration of SAP BOBI Edge 4.2 once it's been installed on Windows Server 2012R2. As you stated your new to SAP and so am I so maybe we can swap emails to bounce questions back and forth? Anyways, SAP BOBI Edge 4.2 will replace our production 2008 Crystal Server and i've hit some rough patches and possibly looking for some assistance.

Were you able to bridge Tomcat with IIS. If so, do you have documentation or provide me with a link?

    Thank you,

John - A.K.A really NEW to SAP.
