Upgrade to EHP8 from EHP7

Dear All,

   I am trying to upgrade from EHP7 to EHP8.

   in step PREP_IMPORT/READDATA_STRL_LST

   it is asking for

     Enter mount points for the DVDS of the kit "BS2016_SP01_MID"

    I have already given the mount points for kernel and upgrade export DVD's in previous step.

    When I look at the log for this it is EXPORTMISC(740). which exists in the dvd for upgrade export and if I specify the path again it removes it.

  What do I do?

Hi Naveen,

Download following two dvds if not downloaded already and provide their path.

- 51050627 (download only the DVD of your OS)

- 51050610 (EHP 8 Upgrade DVD)

Hi Naveen ,

You need to check the CDTrace trace file in trace directory of the SUM tool.

You have to provide the EHP8 upgrade dvds.

So dowload the upgrade dvd of EHP8 and give the path.

As mentioned before I am using the upgrade DVD's only.

Hi Naveen,

You have to compare the Kit ID from CDtrace trace file with MID.xml file of your DVD.

if it get match , then only SUM will accept the DVD

You dont have to provide the full path upto EXPORTMISC740 , you only need to provide the directory in which MID.xml file exists.
