Identity Management - Setting Up a Novell Directory

Hi All,

We are in process to setup IdM for sample scenario.

Plan is to use SAP IdM as a datasource for AS ABAP System. SAP IdM to load data from Novell Directory and pass to ABAP System.

As per SAP Identity Management 8.0 Document Version: 1.0 SAP ABAP Connector for is delivered default package , no issue.

For Directory connector SAP has provided Provisioning framework for SAP Identity Management 8.0 to support Sun & ad however i am not sure if these package/connector can be use to for Novell Directory.

Does anyone has experience setting up Novell Directory services  ?

Hi Santosh,

The connector for LDAP is generic in nature and will work with all compliant LDAP implementations. I did test with eDirectory a couple of years ago and it worked just fine. (I can't seem to find an eval of eDirectory any more for testing (hmmm.... wonder if it comes with SUSE?)  But the AD / LDAP tutorials should guide you through just fine.

Hi Matt,

I am also assuming other connector can work , I used com.sap.idm.connector.sun which eventually worked in my case.

There is performance problem but reason might be different

If there's a choice between sun and AD use Sun.
