External Portal

Hi

I am developing an external portal for a companys customers. The portal users can be divided in two main categories; private and company customers. In each main segment I can also find many different subsegments. For each segment and subsegment there will be a role. The roles for a customer depends on the type of customer in combination with a lot of other things (consumption etc). A menu will be displaying different services depending on the roles that the customer have.

The problem is that I have + 2 million customers, and as you understand I can't map roles for all these customers. Even if I could there is too much work administrating these customers and roles when they change in the future.

So what I would like to do is to automate this mapping, but I can't see how this is possible?

A good alternative is to drop the portal thoughts and build a J2EE application on J2EE that builds the menu upon the status of the user when he logs on.

What would you recommend me to do?

Best Regards// -Fredrik
