Production Version Priority in SAP ERP ?

Dear seniors,

Please let me know if we can have the Priority field in the Production Version.

Yes, we can maintain the priority based on the production version number 0001, 0002, etc.

If the priorities are changing, the numbers are not helping us.

I have seen in an APO implementation that we had such a field.

Please let me know if it can be added to the production version maintenance in SAP ERP

Hello,

In standard SAP- ECC there is no Priority field in the Production Version. In APO you can have the priory filed for your source of supply like PPM/PDS, T lane.

In ECC system select the production versions on the basis of lot size, validity date if it same then by default system select the first production version. In that case you may lock the production version.

For MRP  customer-specific selection of the production version can be achieved using the Business Add-In (BAdI) MD_MODIFY_PRODVERS method MODIFY_PRODUCTION_VERSION Method for customer-defined determination of prod. version

There is priority available for the production versions on ERP.

Another possibility, besides the BAdI implementation, is to lock all the production versions that should not be selected, leaving only one available.

With that BADI I can make the production version priority field available in production version maintenance or we can create our own logic in how to determine which PV ?

Yes, I'm referring to BAdI MD_MODIFY_PRODVERS which was already mentioned by Rupesh. This BAdI is called during the MRP run and you can use it to define your own logic for the production version selection.

Thanks for the resource with the Badi's for production order, is very helpful.

Will MD_MODIFY_PRODVERS help me to make the priority field available in the production order ? I have see this with APO implementations, the possibility to maintain a priority in the production version.

I would need that priority to be used as a basis for the determination logic.

No, there is no field to determine the production version priority. You must create your own logic using the BAdI.
