BPC10 Transport "Environment ID does not exist"

Former Member

Hi all,

we did the first transport of a new developed environment from Dev to Quality system but the transport ended with RC 8 with this error in the method execution part of the import process on the quality system:

Environment ID <ENV_NAME> does not exist

Failed to import environment <ENV_NAME>

System: BPC10 NW (CPMBPC 801 SP 04)

I did not find anything about this issue.

Any suggestions ?

Thanks,

Michele

Hi,

Can you check whether you have environment shell available in QA? Please take environment offline before transport. Please follow below transport guide.

http://scn.sap.com/blogs/ning/2013/03/27/sap-bpc-10-transport-guide

http://scn.sap.com/docs/DOC-29919

Hope this helps,

Ashish,

Those guides are awesome! However if the environment is not offline, a different error messages would come up which is not related to the one that is in the thread.

Michele,

I've seen this error but usually not on a first time transport. Can you run these two programs in se38:

UJA_DATA_CHECKER

UJT_AFTER_FAIL_PROCESS

and see if it gives you a better idea of what's happening.

Hi Akos,

I already run UJA_DATA_CHECKER and below there is the result:

I have the same errors even on another environment and the cause seems to be that my user doesn't have SAP_ALL. So I don't think that's the problem.

I don't know the program UJT_AFTER_FAIL_PROCESS: what does it check ?

Thanks,

Michele

HI Michele,

Please check BWREMOTE user. It should have the Profiles SAP_ALL, S_BI-WHM_RFC

Please check if the following objects are activated or not, if they are not activated then activate these object which were inactive:

1. /POA/HOMEPREF /POA/ROOT

2. /POA/PUBLIC

3. /POA/GROUPS

4. /POA/APP

5. /POA/APPPRPS

6. /POA/APPNAVHIER

7. /POA/APPMETA

Run SE38 program UJA_INITIALIZE_BUI_PST to activate the same.

Hi Rahul,

I don't think that's the problem since the errors given by the UJ_DATA_CHECKER aren't those specified by the note 1722516.

Instead the kind of errors I retrieve from UJ_DATA_CHECKER are explained by the note 1744329 and the cause it's I don't have SAP_ALL.

Thanks,
Michele

Hi Michele,

Have you checked whether the above mentioned objects are activate or not?

Anyways, you will require SAP_ALL to import TR

Hi Rahul,

what do you mean by activated ?

I checked the table /POA/D_ALIAS_IDX and I find the entries:

/POA/HOMEPREF

/POA/ROOT

/POA/PUBLIC

/POA/GROUPS

/POA/APP

/POA/APPPRPS

/POA/APPNAVHIER

/POA/APPMETA

My personal user doesn'have SAP_ALL so when I run UJA_DATA_CHECKER I have those errors but it's not my user that manage the transports.

Thanks,

Michele

Hi,

The User ID importing TR (BWREMOTE) will require SAP_ALL.

BWREMOTE user has only the S_BI-WHM_RFC profile. But the last time it has been changed was in 2014.

And since 2014 others newly created environments has been developed and transported to quality system without this issue.

Hi Michele,

Please check the below threads:

http://service.sap.com/sap/support/notes/1727052

http://service.sap.com/sap/support/notes/1610979

BPC Granular Transport Error | SCN

Also check whether RFC setting is properly configured.

I don't have the errors specified on those note/thread in the log transport.

The only error that I have is:

Environment ID <ENV_NAME> does not exist

Failed to import environment <ENV_NAME>

Error occurred while importing

What about RFC destination? Please ensure that logon credentials, authorizations are tested for RFC users.

I'm not authorized to do that kind of test. I'll let you know.

Michele,

the UJT_AFTER_FAIL_PROCESS is a utility that is supposed to fix BPC transport errors. There are several sap notes that reference the utility for example:

https://launchpad.support.sap.com/#/solutions/notes/?q=UJT_AFTER_FAIL_PROCESS&sortBy=score&sortOrder...

Try running it and see if it fixes any of your errors in your environment.

They told me that RFC destinations and RFC users are fine.

Hi Akos,

I read that usually this program is used in order to reactivate the environmentshell environment but I don't think it's my problem since the UJ_DATA_CHECK on the environmentshell in the quality system it's ok.

Thanks,

Michele

Michele,

You should be able to run UJT_AFTER_FAIL_PROCESS on an environment other than the environment shell.
