Partitioning from ABAP level

Hi experts,

While table partitioning is encouraged for tables with very huge no of entries, is it possible that it could be done from the ABAP level, or it only can be done from the HANA STUDIO?

Reason for asking, I found some PSA tables already being partitioned, but less likely it was done from HANA STUDIO.
